Our Urgent Duty – Meeting 3

This is a note to let you know that Manchester Council of Christians and Jews have settled on a day, time and venue for our third meeting in the series “Our Urgent Duty”.  This is our series of meetings where we look together at the Christian roots of anti-Judaism by examining afresh Christian Scriptures in the light of Jules Isaac's insights that, in them, Jesus did not reject Judaism, and neither did the Jewish People kill him.

Our next meeting will be on Monday 3 July, from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m.

If you would like to come please email our Secretary, Francesca Frazer, at ccjsecretary@yahoo.co.uk or leave a message on  07791 733 980.

Once you have registered, we will give you details of the venue.

At the end of the second meeting, there was a strong desire to continue our exploration together of how we read our scriptures -  how Christian and Jewish people may discern different emphases from the same Hebrew Scripture, and how Christians may read their own scriptures in a way that shows respect for the insights of Judaism and the Jewish community today.
